Finance Manager

Pearse Portfolio is supporting a PE-backed infrastructure and environmental services business on a key Finance Manager search, based in Dublin.

The Role:

This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role within a lean finance team, reporting to the Finance Director. Rather than overseeing the finance function from a distance, you’ll personally execute the full finance cycle – AP, AR, bank reconciliations, cash management, month-end close, management accounts and FP&A.

Working closely with the FD, you’ll also build exposure to a private equity-backed environment, supporting lender reporting, covenant calculations, Board and shareholder reporting, and the broader financial model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Owning and personally executing end-to-end AP, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, supplier reconciliations and payment runs
  • Supporting AR, including customer invoicing, cash allocation, reconciliations, credit notes and collections
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations across the business
  • Managing daily/weekly cash positions and short-term cash forecasting
  • Executing payments and maintaining banking mandates within a controlled environment
  • Supporting debt service payments and related treasury activity
  • Running month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing monthly management accounts covering P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs
  • Preparing variance analysis across operating and capital expenditure
  • Supporting budgets, reforecasts and rolling cash flow
  • Preparing financial inputs for Board reporting and the long-term financial model
  • Supporting the Finance Director with lender reporting and covenant calculations
  • Supporting audit, tax and statutory processes
  • Day-to-day ownership of the finance ERP and integrity of data and processes
  • Documenting and improving finance processes and controls as the finance function develops
About You:
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Approximately 4-6 years PQE in a hands-on finance role
  • Proven experience running a full month-end close, including journals, reconciliations and management accounts
  • Direct, practical experience across AP and AR rather than simply overseeing these activities
  • Strong experience with bank reconciliations, cash management and payment processing
  • Strong Excel and ERP skills
  • Self-sufficient and practical, with the ability to operate independently within a lean finance team
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable working to a regular monthly timetable
  • Clear communicator, with confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, auditors and advisors
  • Dublin-based or able to work full-time on-site in Dublin
Advantageous Experience:
  • Experience within infrastructure, environmental services, utilities, energy or another asset-based business
  • Exposure to a private equity-backed or other investor-backed environment
  • Experience with debt or project finance structures, lender reporting, covenant calculations or controlled accounts
  • Experience supporting Board, shareholder or investor reporting
  • Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable ERP experience
  • Experience of an ERP implementation, finance transformation or setting up finance processes within a standalone business
  • Irish VAT and statutory compliance experience
