Head of Commercial Finance

The business operates within an innovative and rapidly evolving infrastructure technology market, providing specialist technology-enabled services alongside the development and operation of supporting infrastructure. This is a broad and commercially focused finance leadership role, spanning commercial business partnering, FP&A, project finance, financial reporting and strategic decision making. The successful candidate will work closely with operational and development teams, senior management, investors and lenders to drive financial performance and support projects from initial investment appraisal through to completion.

The Role:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across operational and development projects
• Partnering with operational teams and project managers to monitor project revenues, costs and financial performance
• Developing financial models to assess investment opportunities, project feasibility and expected returns
• Overseeing project budgets, cash flow forecasts and KPI reporting
• Monitoring project cash flows, funding requirements and financing structures
• Supporting relationships with lenders, investors and other financial stakeholders, including covenant compliance and reporting
• Providing commercial insight to support investment decisions, pricing strategies and contract negotiations
• Overseeing consolidated management reporting across international entities, subsidiaries and joint ventures
• Supporting financial controls, audit processes and compliance with group reporting requirements
• Driving improvements in financial processes, management information and commercial decision making as the business scales

We are looking for:

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a number of years post-qualification experience
• Strong experience across commercial finance, FP&A, financial reporting and business partnering
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and project accounting
• Ideally, exposure to technology, infrastructure, capital allocation, engineering, energy, property development or another capital-intensive, project-led environment
• An understanding of project cash flows, investment appraisal and funding arrangements
• Experience working across international entities or joint ventures would be advantageous
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence operational teams and senior stakeholders
• A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business
