Pearse Portfolio is supporting a leading private equity backed Business Services company. This is a newly created position across the Group and are looking for someone to lead and implement the tax function. The work has a broad and commercial scope, you will design the tax function as you run it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Group VAT – submit and review group VAT return, and own VAT data quality across the group’s finance systems
• Corporate tax compliance life cycle
• Take ownership of the group’s open post-completion tax action list
• Implement tax processes and controls and reduce manual effort in tax data preparation and reporting
• Support tax due diligence review and structuring input on future acquisitions

About You:

• Both UK VAT experience and UK corporation tax experience
• Review and prepare – there will be no team beneath you
• Ability to explain tax to non-experts, and communicate effectively with advisors, auditors and HMRC
• Comfortable in an environment where systems and data are still being consolidated

Preferred:

• Recognised Graduate Scheme with 1-5 years industry experience
• CTA qualified (ACA/ACCA considered)
• PE experience
• Exposure to tax due diligence
• Experience in system/tax technology implementation
